MONDAY – Once upon a time (story time)

with Roxana Din

TUESDAY – Yoga for kids

with Irina Dumitrascu

During the workshop the children will be invited into the magical world of stories. Each week we will read a story and explore it either through drama or different crafts and activities related to the narrative of the story. The children will have fun while developing their imagination and exploring their natural
curiosity.

In our afterschool yoga program children will learn yoga poses, breathing and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives.  Games, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun, non-competitive class.

Each class ends with a period of relaxation and aromatherapy. Children should bring their own yoga mat to class.

We will practice Listening Bell” – each child gets a turn to ring the bell. Everyone else closes their eyes and listens until they can’t hear the bell anymore. When the bell stops ringing, raise your hand. It teaches focus and concentration.

Each session will finish with a closing moment-take a moment to notice how you feel at the end of yoga class, and remember something special about yourself.

Game Explorers means learning through play. This workshop will help children to develop their skills such as recognizing numbers and sounds, word formation but also counting addition or subtraction of numbers. For the development of attention and sense of observation, we will play games such as “I spy” or “Find the differences”. In September, we sing and move our bodies together, in October we learn about some of the most famous composers and musicians of all time, and in November we discover how other cultures communicate and express themselves through music. December is all about the holidays and Christmas, but in January we get back on track and sharpen our math skills through music. In February, we finish the first semester of school the same way we started it, by singing, dancing and playing. Looking forward to meeting you!
