Delving into grammar rules and making them more accessible and logical to young learners, the workshop combines fun and useful activities in order to allow for practicing a very important skill – flawless communication in students’ mother tongue. Every single session will focus on one area of communication in Romanian, such as the use of two or more “i” at the end of a word. Understanding the logic behind something is the first step in doing it right.

For example, we might look into things such as when we write “copii” and when we write “copiii” or why we use a “-“ between “s” and “au” while why we don’t use it when the word “sau” has the meaning “or”. Everything in this workshop, whether we are talking about materials, quizzes, exercises, videos or other stuff will be fun, useful and clear. Bringing grammar to life and making it fun is the ultimate goal of the workshop, hoping that every single participant will acquire super-hero communication skills in Romanian by the end of it.

Simona Manole – Verita Teacher

Workshop capacity: Min 8 – Max 10;

Reading involves making meaning from marks and images on a page or screen. It involves thinking about the meaning and constructing an interpretation of the text. Reading for Pleasure involves choosing to make such meaning regularly in one’s own time, which often triggers sustained engagement and has multiple benefits.

Reading is, in part, about cracking the alphabetic code, yet when viewed from a ‘sociocultural perspective’, reading (and writing) can also be thought of as a social practice, something that people do to participate in everyday life. You read in order to undertake activities, build social relations, achieve goals, develop knowledge, understand the world and imagine different possibilities.

When you understand reading as a process of meaning making, it becomes clear how expansive reading is. Every day you read a wide range of texts through multiple different types of media, such as screens, books, leaflets, catalogues, food packaging and so forth. All this reading is of value and plays a role in children’s everyday lives.

Secondary School

After school workshops 2025-2026

Secondary students are strongly recommended to enroll in the University Preparatory Clubs (UPC) to build up their university application portfolio highlighting their involvement and commitment.

Universities often look for students who are not only strong on the academics side, they want students who are well rounded in everything. From creativity to service to activity, a well-rounded university portfolio is what counts these days.

More importantly, it is critical for high school students to lay these foundations throughout their high school career and not only during the last two years of IB when it is required. This often looks ingenuine at times and Universities are aware of this.
