Roman Culture and Civilisation

with Gabi Simionescu

Roman civilization was at its peak around 2000 years ago. On the small scale of the humans that means a lot of time of dramatic changes, while on the scale of history it looks like a wink of an eye…

Just like all ancient civilizations, the Roman civilization impacted humanity long term. What do we owe to the Romans? Are there any relevant things we inherited from them? How did it happen?
Learning about the past and about Roman culture and Latin will help us understand better who we are, what our true values are, and, maybe, have a clearer perspective for future as individuals and as humankind.
Once a week we will take our dose of general knowledge, history and morality, by discovering and commenting on great interactive history maps, Roman ancient artifacts, Latin numbers and alphabet, famous Roman quotes and many other ideas which kids might have in mind. Dressing up like Romans? Making small objects or miniature Roman buildings? Learning some Roman quotes which are still bearing universal meanings and values? There is great choice in the ancient world!
