MS Maths and Science

Position: MS Math (80%) and Science (20%) Teacher

Reports to: Head of Secondary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, or similar
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • At least two  years teaching experience
  • Current teaching certification from home country

General Description:

The successful candidate for this position will be someone who instills a love of math and science in their students while engaging them in relevant and rigorous learning activities. They will be a positive collaborator, use technology appropriately, be student- centered, and committed to ongoing improvement. They will be focused on preparing their students for the challenges of advanced high school science and math classes. This position will teach 80% middle years math and 20% middle years science.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide students with engaging, relevant, and rigorous learning activities
  • Modify instructional materials to meet the needs of learners of various abilities and backgrounds
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment in which students are encouraged to actively participate in the learning process
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with students, parents, and coworkers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and inform students and parents of same
  • Collaborate with peers and administrators in creating a positive, open, and friendly learning environment
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, and coworkers
  • Meet basic standards of professional responsibility, including meeting deadlines, responding to correspondence in a timely manner, and keeping abreast of published school schedules and events
  • Seek out and participate in professional development opportunities appropriate for the position
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor

IGCSE & IBDP Economics

Reports to: Head of Secondary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Economics, Business, or similar
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • At least two years teaching experience
  • Current teaching certification from home country

The successful candidate for this position will be an excellent teacher who instills a love of economics in their students while engaging them in relevant and rigorous learning activities. They will be a positive collaborator, use technology appropriately, be student- centered, and committed to ongoing improvement. They will be focused on preparing their students for the challenges of advanced high school social studies classes. This position will teach IGCSE and IBDP Economics and Business Studies.

The successful candidate for this position will be someone who instills a love of English in their students while engaging them in relevant and rigorous learning activities. They will be a positive collaborator, use technology appropriately, be student-centered, and committed to ongoing improvement. They will be focused on preparing their students for the challenges of advanced high school English classes. This position will teach English to Years 7 and 8.

  • Provide students with engaging, relevant, and rigorous learning activities
  • Modify instructional materials to meet the needs of learners of various abilities and backgrounds
  • Contribute to a positive learning environment in which students are encouraged to actively participate in the learning process
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with students, parents, and coworkers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and inform students and parents of same
  • Collaborate with peers and administrators in creating a positive, open, and friendly learning environment
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, and coworkers

Reports to: Head of Secondary

General Description:

The successful candidate for this position will be an excellent teacher who instills a love of history in their students while engaging them in relevant and rigorous learning activities. They will be a positive collaborator, use technology appropriately, be student-centered, and committed to ongoing improvement. They will be focused on preparing their students for the challenges of advanced high school social studies classes. This position will teach IGCSE and IBDP History.

This will be a minimum one-year placement for maternity leave. In Romania, mothers are allowed up to two years of maternity leave at their discretion, so it is possible this position will extend to two years. Anyone selected for this position will be considered for any appropriate permanent roles available at the end of the maternity cover period.

SENCo

Reports to: Head of School

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Master’s degree in special education or Inclusion preferred
  • At least two years of experience in a SENCo, Learning Support, or Special Education role
  • Current teaching certification from home country (special education certification preferred)
  • Familiarity with international school settings and diverse student populations is an advantage

General Description:

The successful candidate will be an experienced, student-centered professional who is passionate about supporting learners with diverse needs. They will be committed to inclusive practices, effective collaboration, and data-informed decision-making. The SENCo leads the school’s provision for students with learning differences, coordinates support services, and works closely with teachers and families to ensure that all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The ideal candidate will understand international curricula and demonstrate strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess students with a range of special educational needs using appropriate tools, observations, and data
  • Coordinate, implement, and regularly review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), learning profiles, and accommodation plans
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt and differentiate curriculum and instructional strategies to support diverse learners
  • Support teachers in implementing effective interventions, behavior management strategies, and inclusive classroom practices
  • Provide direct support to students through small-group or individual sessions where appropriate
  • Liaise with parents/guardians to ensure clear, consistent communication regarding student needs, progress, and support strategies
  • Coordinate with external specialists (e.g., educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists) as necessary
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date student records in accordance with school policies
  • Lead or assist in professional development related to inclusion, learning support, and differentiation
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative school culture that values diversity and student well-being
  • Demonstrate professionalism, including meeting deadlines, ensuring timely communication, and staying aware of school procedures and events
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth related to special education and inclusion
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School
