At Verita International School, we are dedicated to fostering academic excellence through a rigorous, supportive curriculum designed to prepare students for global success. Our recent GL Assessment PT Series results reaffirm our commitment to rigorous academic standards and highlight the remarkable achievements of our students in core subjects.
In September, students from Years 4 to 9 undertook GL assessments in key areas: Maths and English for Years 4-9, and Science for Years 7-9. These standardised tests align with the UK national curriculum, enabling us to measure our students’ performance against both UK and international standards. We are pleased to report that Verita students have consistently surpassed these benchmarks, reflecting the strength of our educational approach and the dedication of our staff.
Key Highlights:
Maths Excellence: Our students achieved an impressive score of 109 in Maths, well above the UK average of 100 and the international benchmark of 105.3.
Outstanding English Results: In English, students in Years 6, 7, and 9 excelled, with Year 7 attaining a remarkable score of 111, significantly outperforming both UK and international averages. This reflects our emphasis on English language skills as fundamental to academic success.
Science Achievement: In Science, students scored an average of 102.9, exceeding the UK benchmark of 100 and approaching international standards.
Supporting Growth and Progress
The data from these assessments provide invaluable insights into each student’s learning journey, allowing our teachers to adapt their instruction to support continuous academic growth. As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are implementing targeted interventions in areas such as writing support and maths enrichment to ensure that every student has the resources needed to thrive.
Looking Ahead
These assessments mark the start of a continuous process of improvement and development. We will conduct a second round of testing at the end of the academic year to track progress and further strengthen our curriculum. We are very proud of our students’ accomplishments and look forward to building on this success throughout the school year.
Hello,
I would like to see the results of our children against the actual results from UK and International, not only against the benchmarks.
Thank you,
Paula
Dear Paula Covrig,
Thank you for your message.
All reports are generated against a representative benchmark or average performance based on a large sample of schools. It is not possible to generate reports for individual schools as this would undermine the purpose of standardised testing. The aim of standardised testing is to avoid comparisons with individual schools and instead provide a reliable context for evaluating performance against broader benchmarks.
The graphs we’ve shown for our school in year groups are set against UK national and international standards. Your children’s individual reports are set only against the UK standards as our school teaches the National Curriculum for England and so this would be a fair comparison of their performance against other children in the UK.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
