Introduction letter
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the Secondary School at Verita International School.
The secondary school at VIS is built on the principle that in order for young people to excel, every aspect of their development needs to be carefully nurtured. This includes not just a student’s academic development, but their social development and their ability to manage and regulate their own emotions and behavior, as well. Our ultimate goal is to help guide our secondary students to becoming competent, compassionate, and effective members of society.
To accomplish this, we offer an academic program that is comprehensive and challenging, which features the internationally recognized IMYC, IGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme. Our dedicated teaching staff complement academics with an equally focused social-emotional learning program that builds resiliency, wisdom, self-regulation, character and compassion.
At VIS we consciously put kindness and compassion at the forefront of everything we do. It is no secret that students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and cared for, and our goal is to maintain a school environment where students are happy and excited to learn. We seek to create a place where they feel comfortable taking the academic and social risks that allow them to grow, and are secure in the knowledge that they have the support they need to get back up should they fall.
In the end, everyone at VIS – from parents to staff to students – wants the same thing for our graduates. We want them to leave VIS as kind, competent, and principled young people. By working together and by following the school’s guiding principles, I am confident that every student can leave VIS as the best possible version of themselves.
