Edexcel IGCSE Timeline
The Edexcel IGCSE timeline is a well-structured two-year journey that prepares students for their final examinations and coursework assessments.
Year 1:
- Students cover the content of most exam papers for each subject.
- Students complete ongoing formative and summative assessments that are tied to the exam criteria.
- Students have two sets of mock exams scheduled in February and June.
Year 2:
- Students finish off the remaining content for their last exam paper for each subject.
- Students complete ongoing formative and summative assessments that are tied to the exam criteria.
- Students begin preparing and working on their coursework and submit it toward the end of the academic year.
- Students have last round of mock exams in February
- Students write their official final exams toward the end of the academic year.
- Students receive their final results from Edexcel in late summer.
Timeline of Events Leading up to Year 12
February of Year 11 – Mock Exams (9–20 February)
Final round of IGCSE mock exams. Results determine IB eligibility.
March of Year 11 – Student-Led Meetings
Students and parents meet individually with the coordinator and university counsellor to decide on subject choices.
April of Year 11 – Course Selection
Following course selection, the Finance Department will contact you regarding the educational addendum.
June of Year 11 – Final Exams (8 May – 9 June)
Final IGCSE exams. Results are released in the last week of August.
September of Year 12 – Course Selection Finalised
By the end of September, all course selections are finalised and no further changes are permitted.
